• Autox-ing for the first time this Sunday

I've never auto-x'd before and I'm going this Sunday for the first time. This is something I've wanted to do for almost 2 years (just months after I got my car). I've never been before, and the only performance mod's my car has are a catback, a ram-air, and cheep tires, so I know my times won't be good, I'm just looking to have fun.

I'm looking for any advice you experienced people might have. Also, anything I may need to do before then to get ready.

Thanks,
Rob

Most important thing first couple times out just get a feel for it, and don't worry about your times. Even finishing in last place is still fun autocrossing

and if you got spare time go play soem Gran turismo

Just have fun. Don't expect to win your first time, and don't be upset when you don't. MEET PEOPLE -- autocrossing is a wonderful community hobby / sport. Introduce yourself, and don't front like your V6 is badass. It ain't, and some mini will own your *** like bankruptcy.

I didn't even enter my first time out there, I just showed up on time, watched, rode along with people, and asked enough questions. When I came back the second time, I was a lot less nervous and more prepared.

Read the solo novice handbook linked from VRacer111's link.

Oh, and Wicked: the V6 can be badass - lots of V8 guys are now asking my advice on the course, and love trading cars with me
