Well, yesterday my college car club hosted an autocross. Naturally, I decided to run my car and see how it/I could do in the course.
I was running with a stock 180,000 miles suspension. This made running the course VERY fun. Basically whenever I hit the gas, my tires (or tire, as it were :P ) would start spinning. Between all my tire screeching and my very raspy, loud header-back exhaust, my car made for a pretty noisy entrant, lol.
What really surprised me was how competitive my car and I were in this contest. The 'maro and I were running better times than a modified Cobra, a turbo WRX, a C5, an S2000, and a Porsche 944 turbo!
Apparently I wasn't the only person impressed with how the Camaro did. I got a lot of positive comments on how nimble it was. This is pushing me more and more towards getting bilstein shocks and springs--as far as I've heard, that would greatly improve my low speed handling.
