    weight reduction

    what can i do to my 98 camaro for weight reduction. I removed the jack and spare tire. I will remove the back seats and take out my heavy *** stereo when i run. My goal is to hit high 13's this year and these are my mods....

    Custom turbo kit with a T70
    Auburn Posi differential
    Richmond 3.73 gears
    Pacesetter headers
    Magnaflow catback exhaust
    HP tuners

    Right now i have my turbo running 5 psi....i will start running after i get my dyno tune in the very near future but how can i prepare my car for weight reduction before that

    Also it depends on when i can sell my 18" rims. When i sell them i will be getting #60 injectors and going to 15 PSI

    Front swaybar and brackets, wiper fluid resevoir, lightweight battery, heatshields under your car, passenger seat, sunvisors, wiperblades, rear seatbelts, front fenderwell linings, etc.....

      I made a HUGE post a while back.

      Here is what I have done:
      A arms (lower, mild steel)
      A/C compressor
      A/C condenser
      A/C fan motor
      AFPR removed
      Air bag drivers side
      Air bag passenger side
      Air bag bracket passenger side
      Air damn (ground down)
      Antenna (smoothed over)
      Ash tray
      Battery (odessy)
      Brakes (rear brakes, round metal donut piece for e brake set up)
      Bolts (misc throughout entire car)
      Bracket (rear seat area under carpet)
      Bracket (under steering wheel, black metal piece)
      Bumper support front (black honey comb piece, styrofoam, metal bracket)
      Bumper support metal frame (saw zalled 4 inches off each mounting point)
      Bumper support rear (black honey comb and metal bracket)
      Carpet (in favor of light weight version)
      Cat back (slp loudmouth in place)
      Center console (pending)
      Cigarette lighter
      Coolant over flow tank (summit racing vs stock)

        My car is going to be pretty radical...but as I get older I have started to like certain things...such as a/c and having a nice sound system.

        I am actually thinking of putting the **** back on the car...I can cruise around in comfort listening to killer tunes or sit in traffic baking hearing my loud *** valve train...

        But everyone has different tastes....what changed my mind was my Lightning...4700 lbs, pump gas, great a/c, nice sound system, full creature comforts and it run mid 12's@with a low 12 second mph.

        I could easily make the power levels my truck makes and have a 10 second car.

          Dude with thoes mods you could put a fat chick in the passenger seat and run high 13s! just turn the boost upto 7 psi and youll have it.

            I've been thinking of ripping all my $chit out
            2k2 camaro, K&N, SLP whisper lid, Konis, AEM, HP Tuners, Angel eyes/Halos, CF SS ram air hood, 4.10s, Zexel Torsen, UMI SFCs, CrossFire, BFGs, Gatorback, Catco, Flows, and TLC! DONT feed the Trolls!

              Oh and once you crank that sucker up to 15 psi youll do a 1/4 mile in about 20 hours give or take an hour. Thats the time it will take to replace your engine when it blows up from over boost.

                15 psi isnt exactly over boost. with the injectors, fuel pump and a good tune you can, pretty safely, run 15 psi. The transmission however may be another story.

                  I guess it depends on the size of the turbo. CFM more important than PSI. Thats kinda a big turbo

                    So true. Actually 5 psi is probibly pushing the limits of the tranny. But look on the bright side, the cluch will explode before the tranny goes.

                      i have a A4....anyways im gonna settle with a dyno tuned 10 psi....and about the 20 hours comment cause the motor....im having a brand new motor dropped in this week....actually i will be getting my car back tomarrow with it...2000 motor in my 98
