so if 17x9.5 will effect him by a tenth.....then how much will my show wheels effect me...19x5 front......19.8 rear...i think that is why my times are so high

well because my stock wheels and my 17's are in storage and we just moved so i just ran it with these on...so do u think they could be the reason for my high times?

It's hard to say exactly what the difference would be but a larger wheel/tire combo will result in more rotating mass and usually a little more weight, neither of which is beneficial at the track. ;) I've seen people switch to skinnies at the track (which were just as tall as stock wheels) but about 40 lbs. lighter altogether, and knock off a tenth in the 1/4 mile. Why? Less weight and rotating mass on the front end.

White Camaro do you have a timeslip? Do you have any mods? What were the conditions and DA when you were racing?

it was a fairly hot night....i dont know the track temp sorry.
My Mods are Flowmaster 80 and K&N FIPK
i would use the excuse it has alot of miles but it only has 62k on it and its a 94 3.4

but also ive ran it before on a cooler night and i still couldnt get under a 17.5

Yeah, I thought it was a 3.8, but that still seems slow for a 3.4. I'd try practicing your launch by powerbraking and bringing the rpm's up (to at least 2 grand if not more) at the starting line. You should be able to knock a couple tenths or so off just by working on your launch.

19s would be better for turns. 19s would be better for road racing or autocrossing

i feel bad for having a 3.4 haha they get no respect i would go turbo but i would rather just buy a z28. so i am thinking if i put my stock wheels back on i might be able to lower my times a bit

Definately take the bigger wheels off. And don't feel bad for having a 3.4. It's still a nice car! Just practice more. Good ET's don't grow on trees! :)
