a got about a 17flat with a trap speed of 82mph some guys at the track says that my car can run mid 16 easy and even better with this trap speed....i have a 5 speed and i was nervous and launch like a ***, i got a 2,8 60ft
My mods are a non welded flowmaster catback and a custom short-ram...it`s that true that a welded catback flow much better that a bolt on one...the next time i will try with my stock intake just for fun.
if you can cut a 2.2 60 id say mid 16s is a garauntee.
I agree, also try revving to 1500 and easing the clutch out, then slowly flooring it. Know where the top of your 1st gear is (what mph it's supposed to be at) and don't shift into second until you get there. If you're still spinning halfway through 1st then you need to let off a bit. Shortshifting into second will kill your ET.

having your exhaust clamped or welded makes no difference in flow. Also there is no "clamp on" exhaust as opposed to just a "weld on" exhaust. You can either clamp it or have it welded its all up to you. Most recommend welding it just for the sake of making sure you have no leaks, and holding it together better.
for your launch, let some air out of your tires, rev that b**** up to 4k and let the clutch out as fast as you can with out spinning the tires, then powershift into 2nd(dont let off the gas and shift as fast as possible)
Ok this is what u do.....buy a Z28 rear end for 250...that should come with posi and 3.42s, then buy slicks which costs about 350 for both tires, then go to the track and launch ur 5speed at 4 grand and u will see 2.0-2.2 60fts and ur time will be low 16s high 15s.....My first time to the track i ran a 15.8 and by the time the day was over I was running a 14.2 cause I launched about 3000 rpm higher

If you REALLY want the 60' times, and you don't mind frying a few parts I agree.

Slicks would be too much tire for a car putting down that little power. A drag radial tire would suffice. I wouldn't put slicks on my car either.
I would spend that money on mods that actually make the car put down real power before investing in tires that I only use at the track though. My $.02
A new rear with a good gear ratio (3.42 and up) is definitely worth the money.

i know that i have the choice to install my catback with clamp or to weld it!! i just wanted to know if there is a difference in flow between the two...
