had a question as far as taking off the line goes...just wondering if anyone has had and results either way. I have an automatic 99 3.8. When you start at for a run would it be better to put it down into first gear and take off and get it up to second then drive or just start out in drive and hammer it?

Re: ??launch??
just leave it in drive. It will mean no difference either way. putting it in 1st just allows you to screw up the shifts when you try to do it yourself. also, i have experienced many times that putting it in 1st, it will sometimes not shift when you try to go into 2nd.

Re: ??launch??
hmm, about the not shifting from 1st to 2nd:
Im not sure if this may be caused by the new tranny the guy before me had put in, but if I hammer it in first, once it gets about 300 rpm away from redline, it automatically shifts to second, this doesnt happen with 2nd to 3rd however.
