Who's fastest? GT, GTP, or Firebird?

I'm just curious since I had an 01 Grand Prix GT a year ago. I would imagine the order would be in order of fastest: GTP- L36Camaro/Firebird- GT. Has anyone raced a GT or GTP? What was the outcome, and what mods did you/they have?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but pretty sure (stock) it would be GTP, 3.8L Camaro/Firebird, GT...My brother has a GTP and it can blow my 'maro out of the water. Non s/c Grand Prixs have around 200hp, same as ours, so I'm guessing it would be a pretty tight race...but I believe the F-body has better acceleration, dunno about the top end. But like I said, I've never raced the latter, so couldn't tell ya for sure. All very nice cars though.

GTP for sure on top, my friend smoked me when I had a few bolt on's now I have him by a bit.

Camaro next becuase the GT's are a heavier car

then the GT.

depends on teh f-bod/GT. I've gotten my 99 GPGT to go 15.5@88 w/ the headlight removed as the only mod.

stock GTP no Doubt... but doesnt take anything at all to blow em out of the water.... not up top tho lol .....from a stop our cars mainly outrun ALOT of cars.....i raced a 2 door GTP at the strip (1/8) and ate him for dinner lol

Dude I dont know about that, look at my mod list....my friend has dropped a pulley, has a DHP tuned PCM and CAI, and I can barely start pulling on him until like 60-70 mph. Off the line yes, I take him, but when I shift to second his SC does not stop pulling, GTP's are badass cars, there are far more of those in the 10's and 9's than F bodys....not to take anything away from the f-body tho.

All your replies are on par with what I thought also. I have a place in my heart for the Grand Prix's. Even though the GTP is faster stock, I still love my Firebird.

A friend of mine owns a 11 sec GTP.............

Went 12's with the supercharger and now with a turbo goes 11's

They are pretty bad ***...

Just not a big fan of the sadan look.

I agree 100%! I absolutely love those cars! The only negative I can think of is they never offered it with a manual tranny. That would be killer. I look forward every month to my GM High Tech Performance mag to see what GN's will be in there...And of course hoping for a V6 Firebird/Camaro.:)
