    Re: 2001 Firebird A4 vs 5 LT1 Camaro in the 1/8th mile

i will be video taping it.. there are more cars now... 3 auto z28's lt1 camaro's, 1 auto lt1 firebird formula, 1 95 cobra stick with exhaust and intake, 1 gtp, 1 f250 with predator programmer, ill try to get as many races as i can with em and show you guys. its this sunday. current mods, LS1 75 wet shot of zex nitrous, M/T et streets, flowmaster exhaust but will have electric exhaust cutout for sunday to dump the exhaust right under the car, 180 thermostat, slp ram air intake w/ k & n filter, msd spark plug wires, tr6-ix irdium plugs, 114 octane, royal purple oil, will have a bag of ice and put on intake manifold when i get there to let the engine cool off and then between runs will put heat on to cool off engine as well. i have consistent reaction times ranging from .503 to .50 sometimes i hit .6 still good though lol only 1/8 mile track as well.

      Ice the intake for sure...

but 9.5s are definitely slow lt1s...

I live in houston, and humidity is horrible as well, 9.5 is a slow LT1.
They should be doing 9.0s in the summer.

I live in FL, my track is less then 1 mile from swampland and 9.5 is horrible for an lt1.

PS go with the highest octane UNLEADED gas, with leaded gas you might cause damage to your CAT and o2s, if you are still running either...

Seems like 100octane is the highest, but I could be wrong.

i just know that one of a friends automatic lt1 was run consistent 9.5's and slipped into the 9.4's twice, also my friends 1999 mustang gt automatic wasin low 9.6's but they also have to ease into like i did before (sunday i will be running m/t et streets lol), so i dunno whats up with there times though i mean on the street i have beaten by a car a 1969 383 plym. roadrunner w/ headers and exhaust and i know they run a 15.0 stock not the 427 hemi! cause on the street i can floor it and get plenty of traction on street tires, i also beat my friend's 2 door 2001 gtp with k & n intake and 160 thermostat, i beat many other cars but those are the closest races

if those cars are running 9.5s and 9.6s they are high 14s at best. sounds like those motors are tired.

What were your 60' times?? If you 60's were 2.2's or something then DR's and a 1.8 60' alone should get you even with them.. The rule of thumb is every 10th off you 60' is 2 tenths off you ET..

i forget my 0-60 times now i havent been out to the immokalee 1/8 mile track since december, i used the nitrous practicing on the street and i used it in 1st gear at 30 mph and 4000 rpm's and i didnt break lose one bit and thats wit regular street fuzion zri tires. i will also be get an electrical exhaust dump right where the cat was and a b & m transpak shift kit as well as m/t et street and my already mods of 180 thermostat, ram air intake, flowmaster dual exhaust, k & n air filter, and the zex 75 ls1 wet nitrous kit, msd spark plug wires, and tr6-ix spark plugs

hes not talking about 0-60 times. hes talking about your 60 foot. your 60' is by far the deciding factor on what you run in the 1/8th and 1/4 mile. the lower the better.
