Yes.... the nitrous guy drove one of the most mysterious type of power adder cars out there..... it had one of those new fangled TURBO chargers!!!!

The maf on the bird crapped out for some unknown reason just a couple days before running.... I didn't have the spare $$$$ for a replacement so I snagged my buddies car.

    2004 Dodge Neon SRT4
    Mods:
    stage 2
    3 inch down pipe
    No cat
    Side exhaust
Continental lame @ss tires in front.

I lowered the front to 27 psi
    Raised the rear to 42.

My only experience with a manual car at the track is my 2004 neon SXT.... which runs a blistering 15.7 seconds!

    So here are the results:

I had serious wheel spin/ wheel hop in first gear, top of first gear, second gear.... the shifter knob popped off on three seperate runs.... if the wheel hop/ wheel spin was bad I gave up.

All in all, it was a good day.

I spoke with the owner of the car and he told me my mph was low and ET wasn't the best... I was asked if I power shifted, I said no, I am not fast enouigh for it....I was told that is key for great times in this car.

The turbo was relatively easy to figure out. 17 punds of boost.

The horrible continental tires (bought used) that are on the car is what really held me back.

I am used to drag racing a RWD car.... with some type of drag radial or slick on it..... so this was interesting.

So... the nitrous guy drove a turbo car at the track.... it took a couple rounds but I became DAMN consistent.... on a 17 psi FWD manual street tire car.

Re: 18 passes in my first boosted car

Anything within a 14.1 to mid 15 sec pass I was spinning/ wheel hopping.

Anything slower and the shifter knob came off in my hand and I gave up :)

ahhh, I hear the removable shifter knob is a performance upgrade and weight reduction, guess you must not have used it acordingly, lol.

18 passes? that's a lot. I think the most I ever made in one day was 8.

Re: 18 passes in my first boosted car

from what ive read the knob coming off is pretty common on those srts.

not bad times. no lsd on 04s if i remember correctly so if so those 60s arent bad at all.

Yup, seems like it is typical on SRT4's

                      03's had no LSD
                      04's and 05's have LSD.

well then those are pretty much on par with what ive seen locally out of the srt 4 guys with lsd on street tires.

lol @ the shifter knob.. happens all the time when you try to throw a shift hard.. to fix it you need to buy a mopar or viper shifter knob

those times are pretty bad for a stage 2 w/ a turbo back..
                          i am running stage 0 @ 13.2

my car has a little more done to it then that car though.. direct port nitrous kit is coming in the mail :) lets see if i can blow up my SRT too lol

Well considering I can't power shift.... and I lose boost in between shifts.... and this is the fifth time driving the car..... I think I did all right.

The owner of the car goes much quicker than my times.... oh well :)
