Ok I was reading some other posts, and someone said Zo6 rims are really heavy and that stock rims are better at the track. My question is for my rear whats better my 18x10.5 Zo6 rims with fusion zri tires or stock wheels/ tires?

    TIA

    Re: Rim weight

Stock wheels are better for racing cuz they are lighter (smaller) and 16 inch wheels have way less rotational mass than your 18's. Bigger wheels = sloooooow track times.

Even with the Zo6s being 10.5" wide?

Yes. More rotational mass slows you down.

yea stock wheels and tires are lighter unless you have some chrome stockers, those will be heavier. The salad shooter stockers are the popular drag racing wheel for our fbodies because they are like the lightest stocker in 16".

I personally have the C5 17" rims. My stock painted 5 spokes where stolen out of our barn like 3 weeks ago. I was gonna use them for future track visits. Guess I am gonna have to stick with my heavy vette rims.

I like my SS rims because they're only an inch bigger than stock and weigh 21 lbs vs 17 lbs (stock rims.) That means my rims are only 16 lbs heavier than stock.

18" Z06 rims are not only much bigger as far as rotational mass, but they're also a lot heavier. I think they're close to 30lbs apiece. They're definitely lookers, not for racing.
