i was just wondering given my car is an a4 with 3 42's and a few bolt ons, what would be the most successfull rpm to launch at? Alos I was wondering if it was normal for me to create so much spin off the line. I have fairly new tire, as well as an lsd, but if I put it even a little over half way down my tires just spin, is this normal??

Re: where to launch and tire spin
well since you have the stock stall... 1800ish rpm maybe a little more.
we can sit here and tell you how to do it all day and it wont mean a thing honestly. go out and get to know the car and what it likes and work on it from there.
typically you want a little bit of tire spin off the line.
as for your tires spinning..theyre still relatively new so you'll get that.

Re: where to launch and tire spin
like vanbibber said, you've got to go and experiment man. Find an old road or something and just launch. No need to get upto speed or anything, just a quick launch, and do it over and over until you get the feel of it. I've got it so my 97 m5 3.8 Camaro can launch at 2K with almost no wheelspin (they chirp abit right off the line) with 1 almost bald tire. You've got to find your car's sweet spot.~97 3.8L V6 Camaro~

Re: where to launch and tire spin
Originally posted by ShodownNot really. Roads actually have a TON more traction than a track typically. The launch area of tracks is usually pretty smoothed out because of so many burnouts after awhile which is why they have 'track prep'. My car hooks great on roads, but not so well at the track.

Re: where to launch and tire spin
Same thing here: the 1/4 track I go to doesn't hook as well as decent cement on a regular street.
You need to practice, experiment with the RPM to figure out where exactly the best rpm is. A good chirp out of your tires and no more traction loss is generally desired.-Eric
2002 Navy Blue Camaro...Striped and Stalled. 35th Anniversary SS wheels
Best ET: 15.384 @ 88.32 on street tires
Project Whitney: Goal, 14.0 1/4 by summer 2008.
