Re: floydsummerof68 going for 11s today!

Pulled the wheels off the ground (left 100% sure...felt it pop down hard, and my dad says he THINKS the right came off). And that's where the good news ends :P
The interior caught fire (small fire, but all the lines were glowing and melting through anything they were touching) halfway down the track and I had to shut it down and try to put out the small fire and not hit the wall or my friend I was racing with. I have to replace the seat and center console becaues the seat got completely burned through and the console has a bunch of melted areas and burn marks.
My push button short circuited and melted it completely and was the cause of the wires going up. It was pretty scary...just had to keep my head and not crash. The car was COMPLETELY filled with smoke and I had to roll the windows down to see out the windshield. Extinguisher is getting put in the car now :P

QA1 R shocks set to 6 on front left and 4 on front right. Launched VERY evenly and straight as an arrow.

I'll rewire it and go out next time. The way it came out of the hole it would've been an 11 second pass...so I'll try again next weekend with new wiring.

Oh, and this was on a 125 crank shot...I had the jets ready for 150, so it's going to DEFINATLEY pull both wheels on that shot.

Heh...my timeslips got burnt in half...that was sorta funny :P

I ran 13.6 on motor, but it was because I was bogging the launches so badly (the new front suspension threw me off...chromoly a-arms and QA1s with drag springs) and could only get 1.81 60s instead of the mid 1.7s it should be doing.

Yep, I plan on going back out next weekend to try for it as long as I can get it wired back up in time.

These mickey thompson drag radials kick *** though. 30psi on a 255 DOT tire and it pulled the tire(s) :)

yea that is awesome that you are pulling a tire now. Kinda wish the tracks were open here but the white stuff on the ground ruins that for me, lol. Gotta wait till spring

Well the main point I was getting at is that people usually put way more tire on a car than they need for a racing application.

Go smaller than you think you need...they hook an unholy amount.

Hell will be coming down on the track next time I go out there with the 150 jets instead of the 125s :)
