  • finally got to the track

the last 4 times i tryed it got rained/snowed out, today was partly sunny and around 40* so i went to the T&T day at numidia and had a blast.

first run, i was nervious as hell and got lined up against a 12 sec SRT-4 and
    launched at 2500rpm

    reaction - 0.809
    60 -3.437
    330 - 8.326
    330 mph -67.96
    660 -11.967
    990 - 15.045
    1320 mph -88.50
    1320 - 17.601

run 2 - first run jitters gone, a little more relaxed. launched at 2000rpms.

    reaction -0.227
    60 -2.799
    330 -7.124
    330 mph - 69.76
    660 - 10.652
    990 -13.667
    1320 mph -89.47
    1320 -16.192

run 3 - best run all day.got a little more comfy, launched at 1800 trying to get those 60's down.

    reaction - 0.615
    60 -2.639 ( best )
    330 -6.950
    330 mph - 70.20 ( best)
    660 - 10.482
    990 -13.470
    1320 mph -90.51
    1320 -15.903

track specs - 990 feet elevation, track prep sucked, it was the 2cd time it was open all season.

car specs - 98 camaro, M5, full exhuast, lid and filter, bald tires, full weight ( with spare tire/jack ) and 3/4 tank of gas.

there was 3 ls1 cars, 2 t/a's and a vette. all three couldnt go faster than 13.4 ( vette ) and the best 60' out of all of them was a 2.22.

i couldnt get traction at the gate at all, the back end slid out EVERY time when i shifted into 2cd, it was horrible.

i dont plan on going back untill i have new tires and LCA's as the car did have a bit of wheel hop.

all and all, i had fun, got in 8 runs. i went with my cuzin who got 18 runs in with his srt-4 ( that i got lined out against first run ) he hotted lapped his car 7 times, then stopped, then 7 more, stopped then ran a few more times. i didnt feel like continuing to run, i couldnt hook so there was no point in beating on it.

i knew you were going to post in here, you really need to ease down on the whoring.

my traps were great all day considering the 60's. it has low 15's easyly once i can hook.

Your problem is ALL about your '60s. Your traps scream low-15s.

Manual cars are just plain harder to et with. You'll get there.

Fireball: very constructive post. I'm sure you helped him out boatloads.

my mph would be up a tad too if i hooked decently, my goal is high 14's next time out.

thanks alot. and i know exactly what you mean about the manuals.

i too am getting sick of the totally useless postwhoring.

You should ask DAS BOOT/shenanigans/MustangEater (so many SNs!) about how to launch. That guy really knows how to drive.

my tires are bald, thats why i couldnt launch and why the rear end was stepping out when i shifted into 2cd. right now none of them would pass inspection, they're pretty bad.

You need to learn how drive that beast and you'll be fine. DEFINATLY low 15 times there.

Re: finally got to the track

wasnt anything driver related, i launched off idle a few times, my tires are all bald. driver error doesnt make you spin in 2cd gear, bald tires do.

i know the car can run high 14's low 15's with a good launch.
