  • got a question..could i take him off the line?

a modded honda(i heard his turbo whine and thought.. hmm i can still take him) he got the jump on me at about 40mph. but i kept going he didnt pull on me anymore... i reeled him in at about 110mph. i hit the speed limiter and shut it down...

now if he didnt get the jump on me would i have had a chance? i'm guessing i would have since he didnt pull away at all and i reeled him in pretty easy...

i'm still 100% stock down to the clutch at 208,000miles (at it still runs like a top!) (3.8 M-5 y87 1997 RS camaro)

i need to get some mods i know... full exhaust, cold air intake, and i'm gonna add my nitrous kit i had on my other camaro too...

Get the exhaust & intake and depending on the rear end you should be able to keep up.
Let's flip a coin. Heads I get tail, Tails I get head.

whew, with that kinda milage i would be worried about preservation, not racing.

      Also turbo's don't "whine"

well whine ,whistle, spool up... whatever that sound... i heard it... have to say it scared me alittle but heck i'm still 100% stock....

i'm just gonna run it and run it hard... i'll eventually replace it with a GTP shortblock, a nice cam, ported heads, and a supercharger kit...(and all the other goodies)

right now i have 3.23 gears... since i have the M-5 and the Y87 package. if i had an auto i'd have 3.42's

          200k+ on a stock clutch?

          wow.

I would stay as far away from nitrous as possible with that many miles. I dont think your motor would stand a chance.

I would never beat on an engine that old.

yeah this car was .. well religiously maintained, still holds about 60psi oil pressure at idle... any gasket, and part that need replaced..was... i have about $6000 in maintance reciepts since it was new(1 owner car) i'm the 2nd owner. 1st owner was an older lady(yeah no bullsh!t) who ordered it new and drove it into chicago everyday for school...

i have a new clutch, new flywheel and a 70,000 mile trans i'm putting in within a few weeks...
