145 Mph

So i took my car up to 145 mph the other day. I remember having a discussion on here once about top speed. 145 wasnt my top speed i was still accellerating when I stopped but its close. I have 3:73 gears even,and i did it fairly quick. I figured i would just let you guys know cuz most of you will never drive that fast. With 3:73 gears, cold air intake,2 1/2 in catback and a mild tune your top speed is going to be about 150 mph. With stock 3:23 gears and these mods i would figure 160. It didnt take miles or minutes, It took feet and seconds from 80 mph. On the 3.8 that is.

What I don't understand is why it seems that the people that consistently make these types of posts are from FL. I'm beginning to think the gene pool in FL is contaminated.

I would think that it would take more than a mile and a loong time. My car makes a decent amount of power (at least 2x more than stock) and it takes a little less than 19 seconds to go 60-150. Stock it took forever to hit the limiter.

He said it was mildly tuned. You can remove the limiter with HP Tuners ;)

But, my question is, how do you know you were going 145mph when the speedo only goes to 120? Do you have a swapped gauge cluster from an LS1 or LT1?

Probably will be a short matter of time before we read a news article about some Florida kid who hopped in his F-body, thought he was God, and had a tire decintergrated while he was playing around at 150 MPH

:bs: plenty of people have done this I have been to 150mph I know this cause i was racing a Mustang Gt and he said thats what we where going, just about anybody with the limiter removed and gears should be able to do that... just my $.02

Whats so great about going 145? Thats childs play for my Ls1.


Besides, thats unsafe and i'd be willing to bet your tires arent rated that high....so stop being an idiot no one cares if you go 145mph.

The sad part is according to his profile he's not a kid, he's in his 30's. But yeah the FL thing is accurate, seems like every week there's someone knew that found a diffrent way to be stupid around here.
