I did it, my 60's are down!!!!

Went to the 'ole half track again tonight after work. I only made 4 passes cuz I got there late and someone blew a head gasket which took awhile to cleanup.

I ran 35 psi in the rear tires (Nitto 555R Drag Radials) and didnt spin on the first or last pass, but I did on the second and third passes (car acted like it didnt want to shift into second on those passes...weird)

I am VERY pleased with the results :D

Run 1:

60'....2.05 (personal best)
1/8....8.68 :eek: (personal best)
trap...79 mph

Run 2: (spun a lil bit off the line, bad shift)

60'....2.13
1/8...9.03
trap...79 mph

Run 3: (spun off the line, bad shift)

60'.....2.21
1/8.....9.02
trap....77 mph

Run 4:

60'....2.11
1/8...8.80
trap...78 mph

This was on 50 dry shot at WOT and 75 wet shot 3000-6000 rpm. I love this new nitrous setup. I am still trying to figure out what happened on the 2nd and 3rd runs, it felt like it didnt want to shift for a split second.

Is there a reason you're only using a 50 shot at launch? Just wondering.. I'd up that shot.. Your 60's should be around 1.8 if you want some decent ET's. You might want to start looking into some M/T ET Streets too.. DR's suck. Are there any 1/4 mile tracks near you? Or only 1/8th mile.. ?

Im only using a 50 dry shot cuz of tuning issues.

MT Streets? Thats way too much tire for me. DR's suck??? DR's are just fine, I dont spin at all IF I have my tire pressures set right (33 psi is the sweet spot with my set up) and a decent burnout. Andrew cuts 1.7's 60's on DR's and Floyd cuts 1.6's on them.

There are no 1/4 tracks near me. The closest ones are all 3 hours away and I just havent been able to find time to get to one of them. :(

i think you could do better with MT DR's, you may not think your spinning but you are you just done have 1000 FPS slow mo to see it

He wants the tires to be spinning a little.

DRs will take him as far as he needs to go. There is no reason for our cars to run anything other than a drag radial other than for the sake of consistancy that a stickier tire provides.

I agree that a better drag radial should be in the future over a nitto, but an ET street is definatley not needed.

My car is cutting 1.60s all day long on 255 MT DR's at 28psi...it'll have no problem doing low 1.5s

And andrew...thoes tires are just insane :P
