Well, I didn't end up taking my car to Island Dragway on Friday night. I went to see Spiderman 3 instead. So I went to Englishtown on Saturday :D
I've always like Englishtown better than Island, as I've ran better times there, and I think they have better track prep. I got in 3 runs. Before I go into the timeslips, I'll give a quick rundown of my car:
1998 Camaro 3.8L/M5
Whisper lid, K&N air filter, Magnaflow catback, LS1 aluminum driveshaft,Open diff, 3.23's.
Weight reduction: removed rear seats, passenger seat, spare/jack, all floor mats, rear hatch divider, ran on 1/4 tank of gas. Any miscellaneous items (coins, owner's manual, etc.).
Weight (w/ driver): 3502 lbs.
Weight (w/o driver): 3215 lbs.
I continued my tradition of my 1st run being the best of the day. I was lined up against a Lancer Evo IX:
R/T: .372
60': 2.187
330: 6.290
1/8 Mile: 9.786
1/8 MPH: 70.50 MPH
1000: 12.774
1/4 Mile: 15.269
1/4 MPH: 90.84 MPH
Definitely wasn't expecting to go that quick! Temp was 72 degrees, absolute barometer was 29.57. The Lancer ran a 12.223 @ 112.92. After the run was over, he told me that he was expecting a high 11 ET that day.
Second run was against a mild bolt-on Hyundai Tiburon. I think it was the GT V6:
R/T: .183
60': 2.212
330: 6.374
1/8 Mile: 9.883
1/8 MPH: 70.27 MPH
1000: 12.890
1/4 Mile: 15.404
1/4 MPH: 90.13 MPH
The Tiburon ran a 15.547 @ 89.33. I was just happy that I beat him. Temp was 73 degrees, absolute baromete was 29.51.
Third run was against a '67 Nova. I didn't get a chance to look under the hood, but I found out it was pretty damn quick:
R/T: .156
60': 2.231
330: 6.467
1/8 Mile: 9.984
1/8 MPH: 70.23 MPH
1000: 12.985
1/4 Mile: 15.489
1/4 MPH: 90.58 MPH
The Nova ran an 11.052 @ 123.28. Temp was 71 degrees, absolute barometer was 29.49.
I was happy with my first run, but I got progressively worse on each run. It was my first time at the strip in a manual car, so it'll take a little while to get used to. I'm getting a limited-slip differential and 3.42s soon. Maybe we'll see a dip into the 14s? :D
