Re: how do I get to the 13s

    13 sec slip:

    CAI
    Headers
    Cutout
    Minor weight reduction (~150 lbs)
Abbott's N/A cam and supporting valvtrain mods
    3500 torque converter
    4.10 gears
    LSD
    LCA's
    PHB
    Aluminum DS
    Bilstien rear shocks
    Drag radial tires
    Mild tune

You should hit mid-high 13's on a cool night.

Or....instead of a cam/valvetrain and the torque converter, you could substiture a 75-100 shot of nitrous and you'll see 13's too.

BTW, wishingmachine, quit bench racing without experience of actually racing. You are not helping the OP.

I completely agree with this formula for 13's in a V6...except for the part about the PHB and aftermarket shocks; those may not be completely necessary...but everything else sure is. Plenty of people have gone on into the 13s with this list of parts, and are making far less than 310 crank HP
If the car is a manual, then just put "driver-mod" in place of the torque converter, and you'll be in mid-13s all night long.

Get some drag radial tires and aftermarket LCA's, and you should get 13's with some practice :)

Dont worry too much about altitude and humidity if you are using nitrous ;)

reaction means nothing. the 60 foot time is the most important part. if your 60's are say... 2.3 and youre running 15.6, cutting .3 off the 60' will put you in the low 15s no problem.

ive always gone by every .1 off your 60' translates to .15-.2 off your et.

my 60' are actually 2.3-2.4 consistantly. How do i lower that, is that traction issues, or low end hp. I have only been raicing something like 4-5 times now, so still kinda new to it.

Stickier tires and practice. Low-end HP has nothing to do with it...once i got in the groove of racing, I could consistantly cut faster 60's than LS1 cars, with mine and their cars being on street tires.

It's the wrong way to put it. If you're making 310 hp in a V6, you'll be in the 12's, unless you can't drive.

96greenmachine definately gives bad advice, i would have to agree.

david8399: get that nitrous running right, a good tune, and some DR's and youll hit 13s easily.

ya i kinda figured given your mods the 60's where not as good as they could be. practice makes perfect. just learn what you car likes as far as tire psi and launch rpms and you'll see improvements in no time.
