Mine 3.8 ran best of a 15.2 on an average day, average humidity in FL, in like march.
-homemade intake
-stock exhaust manifolds, but cat cut off, and $20 muffler on y-pipe
-3.42s + LSD
-lt1 steel 1 piece driveshaft
-plugs/wires, I think Accel stuff
-1le sways
-1LE tranny mount
this was a few years ago, sold the car, guy that bought it put slicks/skinnies on it and pulled the drivebelt and got a 15.3 out of it.
Damn, that's actually pretty good considering the engine is basically stock. I wouldn't be surprised if that thing ran a low 14 with a top end swap, and maybe even a high 13 with a cam. I think people give up too quick on 3.4s. I think there's more potential in the engine than most people realize.
1995 Bluish green 3.4l Camaro.<br />Bone stock right now lol!<br /><a href=\"http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2042355\" target=\"_blank\">http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2042355</a>
17.1 @ 75 MPH with only 1.6 rockers added. This is in my 3.1 that has since been turbo'd, so times will be comming soon. I am expecting between a high 13 to mid 14 at 6psi. If I can get it tuned by next WED (and it's not raining) I'll make a 6psi pass, then bump it up to 10psi. I'll get back with results ;).

My cars have been a little bit faster then most at the track, I drive the piss out of them and practiced at the track alot.
I loved my 3.4L you look at my oldschool posts under my screename I used to argue all day and all night about how the 3.4L wasn't that bad, with 3.8Ls.
But the argument stopped at pivetal moment... When HPtuners and DHP came out. Now that 3.8Ls can tune, there is no way a 3.4L can compare to a 3.8L, top end swaps or whatever, because you will not be able to tune it and it will always run like *** unless you get something like a megasquirt for like $2,000. for $2k you can do an lt1 swap, or ****, even buy an entire LT1... Hell my 5.0 was $2700.
I know its not what alot of 3.4L guys want to hear but just giving some insight before you guys really start throwing some real money at it.
I say just stick with the bolt ons and chassis stuff and enjoy the car.

MegaSquirtII is $410 fully assembled and $250 for a kit if you have a soldering iron. All the software is free.
I didn't realize you can't tune a 3.4? Are you talking about an OBD1.5? Mine can be tuned with a kit from Moates, the software and burner from them cost $150, the PROMs are like $5, and the adapter for the memcal is $35.

I'm not sure if this is the same moates you're talking about but I came acrossed these 2 cables and looked at the info:
The first one is for pre 95 LT1s, and the second is for 95 LT1s. They both state that the cables can be used to reflash the PCM(with a chip burner obviously). They also have tuning software and other stuff. Is this something that 3.4 owners have missed? Wouldn't this stuff work for the 3.4 as well?
