The first one is for pre 95 LT1s, and the second is for 95 LT1s. They both state that the cables can be used to reflash the PCM. They also have tuning software and other stuff. Is this something that 3.4 owners have missed? Wouldn't this stuff work for the 3.4 as well?

EDIT: I also found this chip burner. It's called AutoPROM.

Is it time to hit the junk yard for a spare PCM?:D
If you are going to go through all thet, get a MegaSquirt. I bought one on ebay for $245 (MS1) that included a cable, spark control, 37 pin connector, and all the software on a CD assembled by a professional (KingEFI). I took the cover off and the solder joints were very nice.

You can buy the kit, and I have talked to a lot of people who built them that had no experience soldering only to have it work perfect the first time. They have great tech support and all of the logging and programs are shared by everyone. They also have a forum over there to ask questions about your tune...

Couldn't you just solder a socket onto the original location of the chip, that way you could remove the chip and reflash it if need be? Wouldn't it be more convenient that way? Is that not possible?

I had a MegaSquirt and sold it to pay for the motor ;). I'm probably going to get a Moats system next since it is cheaper, but it really is a DIY kind of thing through trial and error, with little support. If I get a MS again, I'll just piggyback it to control injectors, spark advance and use it to datalog.

          You have an email.
