  • Bolt-on only record

I was wondering what or if there is a bolt-on only record, because I was wanting to take a stab at it when I get my new clutch installed.

Last time out I ran 15.08 but that was with a full tank of gas, about 100 lbs of stereo equipment, full interior, about 40-50 lbs of random junk in the back seat, plus a slipping clutch. So I think the car has in it a mid to low 14s, and I think the record would be fairly close to that, so that is why I am asking.

    Re: Bolt-on only record

I know of several stock internal V6's running mid-13s

EDIT: for example, one runs 13.585@100.05, another runs 13.604@101.33

I think the fastest bolt on guy with pretty close to full weight was like 14.3 or so...

      I did 14.4

I think the guys in the 13s, are the stripped/gutted cars

So? Those cars are still street legal and will pass any vehicle inspection

I really don't see how that is poss. without getting into the heads (port & polish, angle valve job, and larger valves), and to me that is not internally stock even if they were orginal equipment they have been altered too much to be considered stock. In my case I have not even taken a valve cover off.

Listen kid, sorry to break your heart when you thought you were close to having some sort of record, but the truth sometimes hurts.

Thanks! Hey, I just realized, you might be thinking "naturally aspirated record". In which case there are a couple of cars in the mid 13's.

With Lance's times, the NA record is in the 12's...And you know very well your car is more than just bolt-on'. Come on, now...the OP's already confused enough as it is.

                        Bolt-on record - mid 13s
                        NA record - mid 12's
Power-adder record(which is the category Shirl actually belongs to) high 11's.
                        absolute V6 f-body record - low 9's
