i'm in the NW ohio region. i autocrossed for the second tme and it is a blast. i love being mistaken for a v8! i was beating some s2000's and some mustangs gt's for sure around the track. i have ss front sway, kyb shocks, eibach springs, shock tower brace, headers and ssra intake, b&m short throw. i was thinking of getting a new rear end w/ 3.42 lsd and the ss rear sway, right now i have 3.23 open. what do you guys think?

Yeah dude, that's awesome. I was getting mistaken for a V8 too with the times I was logging. I've ran faster laps than the S2000s and WRX STis that show up at our autocross. I've got a bit of suspension done too though.~Chris
1999 Hugger Orange Camaro
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/273836

†…faith…hope

Are you Eibach's the pro kit with the 1" drop. I was thinking of getting those for autox. Some else told me the BMR's might be better. Why did you go w/ Eibach?

Re: new setup/autocrossing is a blast
Well, I know you didn't directly ask me, but I'll chime in. I went with the Eibach springs because of the deal I got on them. Got em from another member here used. They're the Pro-Kit, and drop around 1.5" (for the 98-02's). I've never had any experience with the BMR springs, but I've heard good things about them too. Either way, I love the way the car rides and handles with my springs on it. The car retains a nice comfortable ride, while elimating some of the nosedive under braking, and the turn in and handling capabilities went up as well. I love em, but I also went with the Bilstein HD's during the install. Nice shock to match it in my opinion. Some people will tell ya that you need revalved Bilsteins to work with a lowered car, and they're right if you want to take full advantage of your setup, and be safer, but so far.... 36K miles+ on this setup, and no problems from em.Last edited by silvachris1; 11-14-2007, 05:26 PM.~Chris
1999 Hugger Orange Camaro
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/273836

†…faith…hope

Re: new setup/autocrossing is a blast
the prokit was the first mod idid when i bought my car 2.5 years ago. at the time i didn.t know one spring from the other i lust read up on all of them and they seem to be the most popular. From an appearence standpoint i wish the ride height was lower but they do perform very well.

Re: new setup/autocrossing is a blast
as for my most recent setup w/ 3.73 posi and the ss rear sway, it works well and is very fun to drive. but i am still undecided about the ss rear sway. i'm thinking it may be a little too stiff for my driving style on the autocross course. (i am very aggresive and thats why i am so fast) it is hard to keep the rear end planted coming out of corners.

Re: new setup/autocrossing is a blast
What tires are you using? An SS bar really shouldn't be having trouble keeping the rear end planted, it's not a huge rear bar. Are your inputs agressive yet smooth at the same time? If your inputs aren't smooth enough that could be a contributing factor as well.
36.5 F/ 24mm R anti-roll bars balanced my Camaro just right for me with stock springs, Koni shocks, and 3240lb vehicle weight on sticky 275/40-17 R-compound tires. My \'98 Camaro

My \'98 Tacoma

You put 3.73s in the rear eh? Heh. What SCCA class are you running? Or are these just club fun events with no real classes?

Re: new setup/autocrossing is a blast
I would be careful upgrading to a bigger swaybar in the back and autocrossing. Make sure to pair it up with the correct front or it is going to handle worse. Do some searching on the forums and read about the different setups

Re: new setup/autocrossing is a blast
i run in ESP class. i think i will be fine with ss front and rear swaybars but maybe i'll get some sticky tires. i really need to practice being more fluid exiting corners. my style of entering turns produces a small amount of drift braking but it works well for me
