You're better off with slicks. DR's suck. Good luck!

                Was that a joke?

Slicks may be better for consistency, but her car in no way needs slicks...DRs would be more than enough.

255 MT DRs see 1.5 60s no problem and are a stiffer sidewall for more stability and quicker MPH.

Maybe it was a joke though, I dunno.

Maybe the M/T DR's are decent. Never tried them. But stiffer sidewall usually means more wheelspin unless you let A LOT of air out of them which defeats the purpose anyway. But who knows, maybe they are good. MT makes great racing tires. I had BFG's DR's though and they SUCKED.

Those tires will be fine for her. She's running decent now. The 60' is where it counts with our cars. And she will be in the 12's for sure if she hooks up without wheelspin. Kristen, you're going to have to experiment with the PSI. Somewhere between 18 to 25. Ask James what worked best for him.

                        Re: atco 9/28

yeah i'm going to start with 25 psi in the rear and 50 in the front. i wish that i had someone there to watch the wheel spins for me. cause my car is so freaking loud and with the helment and nitrous shooting out of the hole, it's extremely hard for me to tell.

who wants to be my "wheel watcher?"

The MT DRs at 28psi were cutting 1.5 and 1.6 60s.

I ran BFG drag radials before these and 255 BFGs were doing 1.8s on motor when they were nearly bald at 27psi.

I thought both were excellent tires.

Good luck on your runs, I hope to see a new 12 second car join the ranks. Changing the pressure in slicks will make a HUGE difference, so only change in 2psi increments until you know where you need them, and I would avoid any huge burnouts...those tires (dont know which brand you are running) are going to hook without much effort.

^ Wrong advice. You WANT TO BURN out with a slick!! Kristen, you need to heat the **** out of the tires with a decent burnout, otherwise you'll be sailing toward the wall on your balony skins. Especially since it will be cool out tonight! They are called "slicks" for a reason!

Also, in terms of wheelspin: you can mark the back tire with shoe polish and have someone watch and see how much it spins on each launch.
