Also, in terms of wheelspin: you can mark the back tire with shoe polish and have someone watch and see how much it spins on each launch.
I didnt say to not burn out, I said not to do a huge burnout.
People get slicks on and assume they need to john force it.

I've seen plenty of people do WOT burnouts for ~10 seconds just to completley fail at a good launch because it hooks way more than the car could ever need.

        Re: atco 9/28

what a freaking pointless night. got there at 5, didn't race till 730 8. which was a bust a$$ run, cause my nitrous switches got messed up and then my head wasn't in the game ran a 13.4 . then they let the cycles run again. which was f'ing bs. cause it was only going to be muffled street car night. let me tell you it was far from it. so then we made a "wall" we all lined our cars up across all the lanes at atco so no one "bikes" could get by us. then we didn't get to run till 11 again. my car was so cold that it was another pointless run. argggg. oh well i will just have to go back!!!

I hate that ****. Exact same sh*t happened when I went there this summer. We got there around 5ish and got all lined up. Then there was a delay for some "technical issue" and we didn't ran untill 8ish. wtf!! we left after that because it wasn't worth the wait. I think they do it on purpose sometimes. Lazyas*es! Well, there's always next week, kristen! ;)

that was total BS the bikes were running all day and kept jumping the track official. Then one blew up, too bad he didn't get a piston to the head, and there was a 2 hour clean up street cars ran again at 10:30 and they closed the staging lanes. I have a picture of all the cars blocking the bikes and Kristen's car in "lane 11"

Sorry you didn't get new bests..... but you will, don't worry. Hold onto the tires until you get back to the track and get some 12's :)

I've run slicks (mickey thompson et streets) and drag radials (bf goodrich and nitto extreme) and both are equally good.

The key is matching the suspension to compliment the tire and power combo.

I swear by drag radials for N/A on my v6. Easily cuts low 1.7's N/A If I had more power N/A I would continue to "tune" my suspension with the drag radials for quicker times.

The slicks.....I haven't had enough track time with them.... I feel I was still learning with them.... in my mind I need around 50-100 passes to truely know them.

As for burn outs..... typically a huge burn out is not needed. Since my slicks have not been used in a while I told kristen to do a big burn out/ drive it on the street first.

N/A I would spin them, wait till I see smoke and count to 3 and let off line lock and spin till I grab

Nitrous, I would spin, wait till I see smoke, count 5-6 seconds and let off line lock and spin till I grab

Once she gets a bit of experience with the slicks n skinny combo I expect she will be comfy into the 12's. She just needs a good night.

This weekend englishtown has their swap meet so island and atco will be very busy w/ extra people racing.... she will get there
