The Car: 2000 camaro 5 speed. New clutch, nothing special. Cone Filter, stock s-pipe, 2.5 inch s-pipe back.

Now when I made these runs I was running the 2.5 inch pipe after s-pipe dumped over the axle with no muffler.

    My times:

    Reaction: .179
    I1: 2.538
    I2: 6.830
    ET: 10.363
    MPH: 69.251

    Reaction: .230
    I1: 2.650
    I2: 7.003
    ET: 10.578
    MPH: 69.606

    Reaction: .119
    I1: 2.475
    I2: 6.827
    ET: 10.410
    MPH: 69.334

Now, I just put on my dynomax super turbo muffler yesterday. The s-pipe is still stock. DO you think that no muffler would hurt the times? I plan on upgrading to a 2.5 or 3.0 " s-pipe also. Will I notice any difference? I believe I was launching around 1300 RPMS and still getting bad spin after going around the box and cleaning my tires. I hope to lower my 60 foot times and maybe get a 10.0???

Just work on your 60s. You could easily knock a half second off your time with a good launch. Practice, get new tires if they are going bad, and practice more.

Not having a muffler didnt hurt you.

I'm thinking you need some better rubber. Spare wheels with Nitto Drag Radials are always a good thing to have. Just this weekend, I was hooking my stock BFG KDWS 17's on my GTO to a 2.0 60'. So, what are you running for tires? How was the weather? Warm? The MPH seems a little low to me, but not bad. Only about 1-2mph off. Get the 60' way down and you're on your way to a respectable pass. Quit trying to chop the tree down and focus on your launch. R/T doesn't matter in T&T!!!!

Yeah, I dont worry about reaction to much it just happens, maybe I am doing it too fast though. Im running master craft avenger z rated tires going a little bad, so imma get some new rubber soon and get some better times hopefully. Also, What bout the s-pipe, will a 3 inch or 2.5 inch be better than stock?

its not going to make a difference. it still runs into 2.5 piping. quit being cheap and just go 3inch for the whole catback.

Im not overly worried about it, I was just asking. And im not being cheap, I don't want 3", I have searched and read and based my opinion on that. Thats why You have your car so run 3" if you want, I have mine and Il'l run what I want.

fyi, all the fast cars run 3''. so if youre basing your opinion on (insert whatever youve heard here) you'd be wrong in assuming 3' is too much for a v6 car.

double fyi, i own a v8, so duh im going to run bigger than 2.5 :p

I wouldn't worry about the s-pipe. Better tires than those mastercraps will serve you MUCH better.

Well under the Modifications Encyclopedia I read about how you will not loose bottom end, but it will just move the torque curve up and make it harder for city driving in the 5 speed. I know I will get better track times with a 3" but will it effect my DD that much? If not I will go 3" and order the summit I pipes this weekend.

The mod encyclopedia is not a bible. And changing exhaust diameter is not going to have measureable affect on driveablity.

Alrite well looks like I will be switching it up. Last night I actually came across a wrecked z28. 2000 model. A buddy of mine has it, motor and everything, I may use the exhaust off of it, is it 2.75 or 2.5? If its the 2.5 ill just buy a 3" exhaust but if its the 2.75 I may go with that. I may do a swap for the ls1 but it is crashed so bad the motor may be smashed in with the rest of the front. But anyways, Imma go look at it tonight and make a decision.

doesn't matter what size it is, you're still going to have that bottleneck at the s-pipe. V8 exhausts don't have s-pipes
