I decided to try my hand at some pro level bracket racing this weekend. I went 2 rounds in the Pro Class No Box, and 1 round in Street. I didn't get in the money, but learned a few good things.
1. My GTO sucks. It really does. Far to inconsistent to bracket race. My passes were 14.20, 13.80, 14.19, 14.04, 14.29, 14.10.
2. I need to stop snoozing. The GTO is tough to launch since I can't just flat foot it on the stock junk tires. My best R/T of the session was a .008. Eat it, to all you clowns that think your .230 is getting out in a hurry!
3. Some of the competition was really good, but my slow car threw them off alot. They would come up charging hard trying to beat me to the stripe. The first guy I raced in pro, broke out trying to come around me.
I think I would do it again, but not with my GTO. I'll have my Camaro ready for next season and it should work ALOT better. If you go out racing, try the brackets! My A4 V6 bird was deadly consistent!
