i might go to baytown next friday with a few buddies of mine and another guy is going to tang along ....going to race him but a buddy says he might beat me...what do ya think....

my car 95 camaro 3.4 m5
posi, one piece driveshaft(iron), msd coils, msd wires, cai, no cat, roughly about 200 in weight loss, qa1 adjustable shocks, energy bushings all around....and a 75 shot....i can take a 3.8 with a 30 shot.

5.9 motor, cai, borla dual exhaust, posi

from what ive been reading this truck is pretty heavy and slow something like mid to high 15s....so what do ya guys think.

I think you should either just have confidence in your machine and race him...or just drop it if you're so afraid of losing.

with nitrous you will probably be alright, who cares, race it. If you lose you lose, no big deal

and who said im scared to loose....im going to race him anyway....im really trying to see what my 3.4 can do.

dakota r/t... 5.9L V8.

last time i went to the track i lined up with one of those. smoked the lving piss outta me. he ran a 14.1 and all hes done to his truck is cold air intake and full exhaust. same as my 96 camaro.

underestimating is the devil when it comes to drag racing. never under estimate the person next to you. i saw a buick roadmaster destroy a Z28 last time i was at the track as well.

5.9 Dakota's are nothing to shake your finger at.

I thought the 5.9 dakotas were typically mid 14s as well...it should be a tough race.

it must of been a single cab...cus my buddy only runs mid to low 14s and he beats the truck i wanted to race...never raced him though...wants to race from a roll on the freeway...so the race was called off...i did add a underdrive pulley , bottle heater, more weight loss and mt streets....but thanks everyone for the response.
