Its like 9.8 1 compession not that high really. 4500 stall in stock trans. I have had good luck with M/H slicks 26 by 8.5 at 11 psi. yeah its a 7.5 10 bolt has a thorsen with 410s. going with a spool and 456s soon thow. 2500 pound car.
Has headers, no power steering and electric water pump. Plans are try to get this down in 12s as far as we can all motor. We could have a site sponsor, just been so busy here, have thought of it before. we got a kit to plug the rear balance shaft hole. I dont know anyone else that does. Things we are working on is rear coil drag springs.
Staying N/A? Mill those heads down to like 13 to 1 compression and let 'er rip. How you tuning? HP Tuners?
I agree...at 2500 pounds and those mods it should be quicker. If we saw the slip maybe we could see what was happening...or atleast type out the slip.
101mph in an auto is fast...quickest I ever got n/a was 100mph on stock heads and went 13.53, so your car is definitley making some good power, but with a decent set of heads you should be able to pick up some...maybe it's in your tuning?
My friend races his camaro that tips in high 2900s raceweight with completely stock motor and grabs 13.6s with a best mph of 102. Intake, Exhaust, 4.10s, clutch, skinnies and MT ET street radials (235s) and tuning from me.
With the weight alone of your car his setup would be going 13.2s
With the cam we're putting in his car we're hoping for half a second off at his current weight (230/240 112lsa making .512 lift for stock heads).
There is only 6 passes on this short block. so there may be more in it. I have had better 60fts with my stock motor, but it didnt run any better after that. I need to put 456 gears in to really hit the power band of the cam. its only running 5 grand down the track and 5,500 at the end. DHP software is what im using. If anyone has DHP software in a F body u can thank me. I got them to make it. Mph is pretty good. I had 104mph with stock motor but was on street tires. street tires get alot more mph because of the bit of spin. Im sure with some tuning it be better. Far as cam specs cant say yet.
Those are solid 60's. My buddy, with the camaro, is swapping to 4.56s as well in his 5-speed. We're hoping to knock a couple tenths off jumping from the 4.10s.
We're also having a problem with his car launching over 4K though...I havent figured out how to resolve that in the tuning (I use HPtuners) and it is really holding the car back from turning in great 60s (running 1.8s right now)
410 to 456 is gonna change your shift points drastically. Come on now man. Start pimping your stuff on here. There are no more sponsors. I still *might* be looking to go V6 fast if I could find a 2000 Camaro on the CHEAP!
Hey guys. For starters I’ve always been a big car guy, I love all types of cars and can appreciate all types of engineering. I’ve always been a Chevy...
