Aluminum Driveshaft - did you replace a 2 piece? Going from a 1 piece steel to Al doesn't do much
    3.90 gears - For a 10 bolt? Thought those were a Ford Gear for a 8.8 or 9 inch....
PCM Tune - Who did it? Tune it yourself?
Short Ram Intake - Home made? Ebay? minor gains
Headers/exhaust - Which headers, what exhaust?
MSD coils/NGK plugs - not really adding power here
    W/P u/d pulley - you'd be better off running a short belt with no a/c or p/s
AGX shocks - really? hmmm. your worn out stockers might work better for drag racing

Basically it comes down to the fact that the 96 car has alot of things working against it. You really need the better intake manifolds, and tuning abilities of the later cars. Do you have a 97 PCM running HP Tuners or something else? I'd be willing to make a bet that you would go 14.80-14.90ish at around 90mph.
    d/s replaces a 2 piece
I think im the only one on here running 3.90's on our stock rear end...they just came out with em
    pcmforless tune
    pacesetter headers
and I know you want traction for racing, but you dont want to dead hook and bog like I was...
and just put in msd coils and what not so that you know there new and not in need of replacing or anything like that...

I dont have the agx's in yet there going in this week hopefully (def before I hit the track in a few weeks)

    2002 SOM Z28 Camaro - 12.9 @ 104 mph

I didnt have an inch of slipage on the tires at the track...no spin what so ever....I was lucky if I could even scratch them on the street...Im running a 245/55/16 tire Hankook ventus HRII

              a 2.3 60' isn't dead hooking anything.

Thats why Im hoping the the shocks and gears will make a huge difference...Im hoping for 13.99 or better...or at the very worst something like 14.00 or 14.01...
Unless you have rocket-powered gears or magic shocks, you aren't going to drop an astronomical 1.7 seconds off your 1/4 mile time.

yea I meant 3.90s have been put in the stock rear....motives yes...

since the run I've done the gears/lsd, and will have the shocks done.

Im thining a big difference because A) 3.08 to 3.90....B) I was dead hooking because my shocks are toast...new shocks will help the weight transfere and get power to the wheels....like when I went the first time and I launched...it felt like the power was going anywhere but the wheels...it did not want to move anywhere....I think if I left the shocks on another 5000km I would hit the bump stops when I floor it....honestly ( I hit them when I have 2 ppl in the back seat and accelerate hard)

On street tires and stock stall, that won't matter much...maybe you can get consistant 2.0X 60's, which will plunk you right down in the high 14s

My goodness, you really have no idea how your car's suspension works, do you? Dead shocks don't create dead hooks

during a dead hook, you know the car "wants" to move, cuz it feels like a minivan just rear ended you.

You'll be luckly if you even get a 14 second time slip from the mods you have done since the 15.60.

maybe I have wrong terminology then...what would you call no spinning and feeling like your *** end wants to smash the floor, and dragging its *** half way down the track before it finally goes...?

Worn out crappy suspension thats not transferring weight correctly is my guess.

slight wheel-hop, followed by gratuitous spinning...pretty much, the anti-dead hook

def wasnt wheel hop...Ive had that before...it was def do to crappy suspension...thats why I think if I had better shocks at that time I would have run like 14.7...I thnk...anyways I suppose we will see when I hit the track...

I know on the street when I take off it hooks enough to throw my radar detector into the passenger seat and my broke console lid flys into the back seat area.LOL
