    Re: 13 second N/A runs

whats the theoretic conversion of 60ft time to overall time? like i cut 2.3 last time and ran 15.6...if EVERYTHING were the same but this time I cut 2.0, what would that equate to for overall time?

    1996 3800 Camaro - 13.43 @ 100.77 mph

You need to get your terminology straight. A dead hook is a perfect launch. A perfect launch is not a 2.3 60'. Bogging occurs when you have too much traction, and creates a terrible launch. A 2.3 60' is a terrible launch, and a worn out suspension isn't going to promote bogging. You were spinning, regardless if you knew it or not

I know I wasnt spinning though...when I spin the speedo goes up a considerable amount...this didnt, even with brake torquing the launch...the *** squatted and dragged along the strip...Im pretty sure it was from too much traction...I am 100% sure I was not spinning...trust me, I could barely scratch the tires on the street....even with the 3.90 right now...unless I brake torque it BARELY chirps the tire, barely....however you can feel when it goes into 2nd it spins the tire and I have an A4....go figure...definetly has a lot to do with worn out suspension...its all stock and all original

there is an onramp onto the highway by my house that is about 150 meters long....I slow her to 20km/h and boot it and nail about 135km/h when I run out of lane right now...1/4 mile is about 402metres....I know this is not a good indication of how fast my car is...but that was pretty much my trap speed last time if you convert to mph...and even on that hard acceleration you can feel the car squat more then what it should...

alright, w/e. Just go to the track and try not to act too surprised when you don't go faster than a 14.5

Lol, and I don't think it will go a 14.50 off a 13 second cliff.

                      .
An intake/exhaust V6 fbody isn't running mid 14s unless it has GOOD tuning and is running in great weather.

                      3.90 gears/lsd
                      pcm tune
                      short ram intake
                      headers/exhaust
                      msd coils/ngk iridium plugs
                      w/p underdrive pulley
and I am gunna have the agx adjustable shocks on...
couple that with no spare tire, jack, back seats or passenger seat and I thought I would be able to hit like 13.99...Thats what Im going hoping to do...its a 96 A4 but its been pretty babied
Theres no chance in you running 13.99 unless you do more weight reduction.

14.5 would be a very good time. If you put a converter in it with drag radials you could be looking at LOW 14s.

Dont be dissapointed in numbers with your car...if you are happy with the performance a number shouldn't change that.

ALSO...deadhooking sucks, you want to come out of hole spinning 10-15 feet (not burning out...forward momentum with some spinning) ramping up your RPMs.

                        Warning...

Dont ever have high hopes for glorious track times or dyno numbers...ever. Trust me, the track (and dyno) is a very humbling place and its not very often that guys will run the time that they wanted to and even more rare that they go faster. Just FYI.

I hope you do reach your goals, but dont be real dissapointed if it doesnt happen the way you envisioned it.
