but remember the car was bogging and squatting hard on those runs...and Ive done gears and will have the shocks done and sorry I didnt mention (not that it matters too much) LcA's relocated (and no Im not lowered)...to be honest I think if I had shocks done at the time I would run like 15 flat atleast...I think anyways...I really wish they would fix the timeslips page so I could see what other full bolt on cars were running...

The car is still going to bog, not as bad, but still bog. The torque converter has more to do with that then the gears. It will RPM faster with the gears but your still far below the torque peak of the motor when the converter locks up.

well I suppose we'll see what happens...Im trying to think of what else is easy to remove that will net me even more weight savings...I have carpet, spare, jack, rear seats, front seat, stb bar...what else

I only weight in at about 110lbs lmao...so yea that helps Im sure...

Full boltons cars with a tune and practice will run mid-high 14s at full weight if they came with the 3.42/lsd combo.

3.73s will help you do it a little easier. Go out and try for new bests first, then try for 14s, then figure out what to do to make it faster.

Making a car fast is a work in progress. A lot has to do with the weather you race in as well.

If you get down into 1.9 60's then you should easily be knocking out 14s on a good day.

Just go race and see what you can do...that's the only way to know and improve.

I understand...and thats exactly what Im going to do...my logic is like this though...I figure I have anywhere from 230bhp to 240 bhp full bolt on...240 prolly on the high side of the scale....most likely in around 235...sound about right?

an LT1 has 275 and runs around 14.1 stock...an Lt1 is heavier then us to begin with...I plan on doing an additional 150-200lbs weight redux

according to the weight redux site, dropping 100lbs is the equivalent of adding 10hp approx...

so if I drop 150-200lbs...I technically am running as if I have 250-260hp correct?....(this is my theory)

now Im close to the power of an Lt1...but alot less weight (remember I weigh less before the weight reduction)

lt1's also have 2.73 gears....I have 3.90's...hence I think at the very worst I should run anywhere from 14.1-14.3...and Im hoping to squeeze out 13.9...thats how Ive looked at this, but we will see in may...

                      ^^Not good logic or theory.

Weight does not equal horsepower in any way. 100 lbs is not equal to 10hp. Some will say that 100lbs will be equal to ~.1 off your ET, but it doesnt have to do with hp.

You will be lucky to get 225hp with full bolt ons...and a tune.

Remember, LT1's have a TON more torque than a v6 with equal horsepower and their power curve is better than ours becuase they make peak horsepower/torque sooner than we do. So in the end an LT1 is still faster.

Wrong. LT1's dyno 250-260ish stock. Your car might put down 190ish. Thus, high 14's.

haha I was talking crank power...no...more then 225...figure if I only got 10 from exhaust...8 from headers...thats 218....the other 12 can come from the pcm tune, intake, pulley, coil packs and wires all tied into one...atleast 230....d/s frees up hp making it more effieciently get to the wheels (its made the biggest difference on my car out of all my mods)...anyways we'll see....
