Denisty altitude factors in the humidity, temp, elevation, and pressure...higher DA results in poor air and slower ET and MPH.

well like i said humity is always at like 90-100% track is roughly one mile from the beach and generaly it is right arround 90 degrees. eventually i gonna go visit with turbov6 and shodown in florida and learn some tuning and nitrous stuff before i expect ot get anything spectacular.

Ouch...yeah those are terrible features for racing.

Wait for the winter air and you'll get MUCH better times.

so I hit the track again last night and ran my worst times ever, 15.8's almost all night

I FINALLY got info about elevation and crap though, so maybe someone can help me out with that stuff...

elevation is 205 meters above sea-level
          temp 25C
          humidex 29C
          barrometric pressure 100.65k/a
          humidity 54%

anything else that must be known?

These are like the slowest times I have ever run...this was with a full interior, 3/4 of a tank of gas (filled up the day before) and a new cutout put in and opened....These times are frustrating for a full bolt on car....gotta be something wrong.

On a side note there was an Lt1 running 15.0 last night, and an 98+SS running mid 14's so....

Here is the DA calculator...you can figure it out using these fields

Thanks...now given the info I have supplied what goes where? lol

                  elevation is obviously 205.5
Air tempurature is 25 right (not the humidex)?
                  altimeter setting is what?
dew point is the humidex? 29C?

                  thanks...

Go to wunderground.com and you can find the altimeter # http://www.wunderground.com/

Scroll to where it says "History and Almanac" and then select the date that you raced...it will show detailed readings for the various hours of the day. You can see the "sea level pressure" (ex: 29.85 in), dew point, temp, etc... there which is what you want

Beauty....Now what do I do with this information lol, I have found out that...
                      D/A 2320
                      Absolute pressure 29.032
                      relative density 93.39

what does this all mean, and how would this affect my runs?

It means that if you raced at a track near sea-level on a cool day (near 0 DA) that you'd be a few tenths faster. The lower the DA the quicker your car will be.

DA is just a way to relate your times to others times.

You couldn't compare to someone racing at a track with great DA, so you use it as a standard to compare against.

I see...is there something that will calculate a correction time....like you input the DA and your 1/4 mile time, and some calculation gives you a correction number of what you would run at 0 DA (estimate wise)
