Alright I've got some questions that need answering. My buddy has a 3.4L DOHC 96 GTP which is rated stock at 220 hp. He's talked up his car for a couple years now, stating how he's beat mustangs, SHO's, and camaro's, but ever since I've gotten my 3.4 he hasn't been able to beat me yet. He also has an intake and exhaust. All I've put on my car is a CAI and a new muffler. So his car should still have AT LEAST 45 more horses than mine. I'm wondering why I smoke him every time we race. I get about 4 1/2 car lengths on him in an 1/8 mile drag.
This makes no sense to me. We've seafoamed his engine and tried octane booster and other various insta-fix crap. His engine is leaking oil and his SES light is on, also I think his transmission fluid is overfilled. But i still don't think that explains the HUGE deficit. Would that have a major effect on his performance? I'm starting to think that he has just been feeding me BS about his car's abilities. What do you guys think?
