i am goign to the track tonihgt In Sonoma basically Sears point aka Infieon Raceway I am goign to Race my 2001 3.8L Anything i shoudl prep before goign like what to do any way i can make it run a little Rich just for the night

well When i start my car in the moring when its hella cold My car has alot more power then when its Hot and i figure its goign to be hot Today so isnt when its cold outside your car runs RICHER?

Cold air = denser air = more oxygen = leaner (if the computer doesn't correct for it)....

unless your talking about until your engine warms up, cause there is a warm up enrichment programmed into your ecu.

but basically the power gains you notice are from the colder air allowing more oxygen into the cylinders. and you're probably not gaining that much power, its most likely just better throttle response that you're feeling with the butt dyno.

So just got back from the track my best was a 16.042 1/4mile at 83mph with an
recation time of .042 i have wide rims and tires on i should of put the stockers back on lol but i had fun though

^^^^^Not necessarily.

Anywhere from 15.3-16.0 in basically stock form is normal.

My car did 16.8 at 84, bone stock with 3.08 rear in the summer heat. Track conditions, air, launch, etc. all may factor in. Went back later with 3.42s in the spring, with a blowmaster exhaust that doesn't add any power, and did 15.7. Times may vary DRASTICALLY.

Go back in the fall, 15s will be there.

it doesn't sound like your that far off, it may have just been the run/conditions of the track, but untill you run again, you could always put on some more mods :D

when your that close to 15's? shift better. launch harder. losing .043 seconds shouldn't be that hard
