    Re: Some track times!

Haha, yeah I did. Smoke show off the line ftw!

I have lsd and no fi, plus the lcas, subframes, and better tires, so it's not possible for me to floor it and get a smoke show anymore, but I still just can't keep it well enough to get a good launch. I realize practice is still my best bet, but I'd like to get decent times without going to the track hundreds of times as I don't plan on going back every weekend. Maybe 2-3 times a year.

lol, that will help my r/ts, but not my 60'. I have played around with a practice tree for a while until I consistently got .010 or better, but like I said, I really wasn't going for r/ts, plus a practice tree is just a tad different from the real thing :P

hell yeah it's different from the real thing. It doesn't help you with how deep you stage or the damn adrenaline rush which makes you all nervous and forget everything you were planning on doing! Ah this stuff is fun.

do you have auto or manual? auto right? how are you launching, and what did you have the kyb's set on when you were dragging....your getting close times to what I am running full bolt on with the same kinda car and 3.90 gears....I plan on going to the track again august 1st cause I got a lot to work on...Just curious to see what seems to be working for you and how you are launching...

Jeeze. Didn't even think about the shocks. I think the rears are set on 4 or 5. More likely 5. My 2.1s were launching around 1900 or so, +-200rpm. (A4)

                    Re: Some track times!

Ok...I'll give launching softer a try 1800 rpm (A4 as well), and try the same thing with the tire pressure on my car....next time play around with your shocks, they can make a difference...for some reason I found out last time that a stiffer rear netted me my quickest time of 15.2@90.50mph ( I was also heatsoaked to hell, lol)....what kind of tires do you have? and what size obviosiously 16" 245's?

                      Re: Some track times!

yeah 245/16. Bridgestone Potenza G009s are what I'm running. Stiffer rear makes sense, I can't believe I didn't think to adjust the shocks.

Next time out will be on my 215/50/15 DRs (i think that's the size) which should get me better everything because of the size and added grip.

I dunno....to me it didnt make sense....from everything else I have heard, I heard that you want a soft rear end so that you get the weight to the back tires and squat more....
