Lol so I raced my friends GTO

Only thing is, I was running bad all night..9.8-9.9 all night.. but it was like 94 with 100% humidity.. The first night I went, it was consitant 9.6's.

Can anyone tell me why my friend is getting such ****ty times? I drove with him a few times and he shifts as fast or faster than my transmission, and he gets a bad 60' because he needs to work on launching.. But even if he is spinning, his trap speed should still be higher shouldn't it? Aren't 04 GTO's supposed to get mid 8's stock?

He didn't launch worth anything, looked like a little spin and you have about 700 pounds on him. Still doesn't make up for the 200 horsepower difference so IDK. New driver mod is what needs I would guess.

And I get consistant 2.2's so I'm pretty sure it's the car.

Last time I went, I was getting 9.7 with a 2.3 EVERY time, it happened 5 times.

I just stall up until the point my tires are about to start spinning, and launch like that.

I am the camaro, he is the GTO. We both have street tires obviously.

I'm with this statement

I ran a 8.9 @ 78MPH in my stock convertible mustang. I had a 2.0 60 ft. If he can drop that 60 ft down he'll do way better

That's an LS1 goat, not LS2, but either way, the weight doesn't make up for the extra power. He has a terrible launch and that's where most of that crap time is coming from.

Yeah even I normally run 9.6 with a 2.1-2.2 60'. I told him to practice his launch more, and he has been practicing a bunch of different methods. This was only his second time at the track, and probably his 5th or 6th run ever, so I am sure he will get it down eventually.

But I am laughing while I still can... before he learns to launch, and rapes my car.. haha
