Those are good times. You're about where you should be. In response to a previous suggestion, do not buy headers if you're interested in performance for the bargain. They will net you very little horsepower over the stock tubular manifolds. You'd be better off buying a set of DRs if you're interested in lowering your times.

I have a cam, but that is also a bad bargain for the horsepower. If you're going to do a cam, get a high-stall converter with it: anyone who has a cam will tell you that you will utilize the power from your cam much better with a converter. Don't waste your money on headers if you don't have a stall.

i disagree, DRs will not help much on his auto until he puts down more power, so he will just be wasting his money on those. headers are the next step

I have a 99 they have the crappy log style. 2000+ got the tubular manifolds.
Just because there not a bang for the buck mod you still need them there a supporting mod that is needed when i cam/stall my car. Why would i need DR's when my tires just "chirp" at the track? I dont have enough power to need DR's. And yes i do need a stall.

                        Re: New Track Times

I would suggest headers, no need for DR's yet, unless you have or plan on using a power adder. Cam will net you alot when tuned, but I would look into HPtuners and a wideband to get the full power out of it.
Also factory stalls have proven themselves in a couple of 11 second vehicles. So that is last on my list.

                            Re: New Track Times

yea do the headers. engine has to breath before u do any other engine modds. On my 3.4, after I put the headers on i could really feel the diff. Car felt "light". And ur gona need them if ur gona cam the car. Mines getting cam's tomorrow so im glad i did my headers.

On a side note im now wondering who my ride would do in the 1/4. never been to the track but im getting real curious.

Did u run the car with those heavey tt2's on there? Do u still have the stocker, because they are much lighter. After u put the headers on slap some DR's on the rear of your stockers and loose the stero and spare and see what u do. best of luck

...99's did NOT have tubular manifolds. Headers are a must. Cam is a must if you want to break into 14's. Converter and DR's...with the right cam and a tune maybe even 13's
