Can the late T5 trans be reworked to handle more HP and Torque for drag racing. I have heard that G force has parts for the V8 T 5's. Thanks Ron

Yes, G Force can rebuild them with stronger parts, BUT I've known several people who had them and still blew them up. They ended up buying built 4L60E autos and havent looked back LOL.

If the class your running is 5 speeds then get the G-Force tranny it will handle up to 500HP and 500 TQ. Maybe even more, for $2200 that isn't too bad, considering you won't have broken gears on you. I was looking at putting a G-Force in mine(after blowing up 3rd gear) but do to some medical problems(stroke) , I needed a Auto. So I swapped a auto in mine and it was close to $2000 with parts and labor converting it into a auto. So I would go with the G-Force if you like shifting.

^^ $2200!!?? Holy crap! A Performabuilt Level 2 auto is only $1600 and they are damn near bomb proof.

I think it ws around $2200 , with the shipping yours out and them shipping it back and the better cut gears. This was 2 years ago so it might have changed. I know when my auto goes I'm going with the Performbuilt level 2, I was going to get their tranny in the start but didn't have the funds. I got 02' A4 for $430, Transgo($110), Vette Servo($25), install out of the car ($160), shifter($50), cable($75), Speartech harness $(190) handle ($35) cover plate ($30) A4 shifter harness ($20) , bought another 97' pcm ($65),B&M trans cooler($85) misc. like $100. That brought me up to around $1400 , then paid one of my Dads mechanics around $600 to do the install(according to IRS), he also took my whole rearend apart with all new axle seals , bearings new Torsen Diff (I had lying around) with G.M Movitive 3.73 gears with RP oil later on about a few months later. I owed him anyways for installing my PA racing tublar K with lower A arms for $100.
