bolt on ls1 auto's dont even have a big problem with the stock 10 bolt.

its the M6's that snap the rears with bolt ons becuase they do 5.500rpm launchs.

Re: Woohoo Just got back from the track

I broke 3 rears in my V6 and 1 in my V8.. If you are to build up your car it would be wise to start with the Rear and work your way to the motor.. I did the oposite and broke 2 M5's and 3 10 bolts in my V6. But I did have a bullit proof motor!!

do you think a 28x10x16 hoosier slick is too much tire for my application? (they're used that is why Im considering them)

                  Waaaaaay too much tire.

Look for the term "Drag Radial" when you are searching for drag tires. Also look for a 26" tall tire otherwise your PCM will go nuts unless you tune for the taller tires.

Re: Woohoo Just got back from the track

yea, I would prefer a drag radial over a slick...just kinda hard to find this stuff for a cheap price, especially locally. This guy was selling these hoosiers for $200....but I was thinking it was definetly gunna be overkill lol.

another tire I have been looking at is MT et streets 255 50 R15 ....is the fact that is has a 50 aspect ratio too thin? I thought for these kinda tires you want a taller tire, so something that was like 60....

Again...too much tire. I have them and dont really like them that much, I'd MUCH rather have a DR again.

                      A 255/50 will be fine.

                      Do you have 15" rims?

Re: Woohoo Just got back from the track

Im looking into getting some....I have a post titled drag rims in the wheels section.
The et streets are a drag radial? Im kinda confused, are you saying that the 255/50 et street tire is too much, or will be fine?

I should have asked for exactly which tire you asking about. MT makes a street legal ET Street radial that is a wrinkle wall and uses a inner tube (thats what I have). I dont recommend those.

I meant that the size 255/50 will be fine in a DR application such as these:

                          http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

^^Those are the most widely used DR and are a GREAT tire.

I had these for a long time and really liked them a lot. They are a 245/50:

I'm about to try out my Nittos for the first time this weekend; I have heard people swear by them, and they're street legal. All my V8 buddies are running them as street tires because they grip so nicely, don't ride bad, do great in rain, etc etc.
