    Re: Turbo time....

Looks good. I'm glad you went with a bigger turbo that t25 was a bit small.
I think it would work better if you flipped the turbo 180 degrees though, looks like the downpipe would be hard to route that way.

      Thanks man!

The down pipes not big deal, I got it made up already but dont have the flange yet to weld on to it, so I havent attatched the lateral pipe yet. It just goes under the motor back to the remaining exhaust. Its manageable, once i get the flange ill put a pic up of it. The exhaust 90* bend is cut on a angle so the pipe actually goes on a backwards slant.

The way the turbo is angled is the best way i could think of to make the charge piping work while still retaining the battery in its stock place.

Heres some more pics of the oil lines and the charge pipe from the turbo to IC, I dont have the couplers yet... Enjoy!

LOL the first hole didnt work out right..opps. Ill cover that up.

45* coupler on its way for this area

Other charge pipe side done, except for IAT and the BOV.

            Re: Turbo time....

So here are the things i need to do still

Weld the flang onto the downpipe ive made up

Attatch the BOV and IAC to the charge pipe
(when i get the WB 02 sensor kit in the mail) Hook that up and weld in the bung on the downpipe. Also weld a 1" pipe on wastegate to direct exhaust to the ground.

Hook both the oil lines up to turbo(there there just not secured yet..

Run vac lines for BOV and wastegate

Connect all the piping with couplers and clamps

Check over everything I did at least 5 times before I start the car up and let it idle till warm up. then shut it off and do that 3 times before i touch the throttle. Also tune for Idle before I touch the throttle. Check for oil/air leaks!!

I did burn a chip today and turned my ignition on, to make sure it was communicating...it did but there is a glitch in the ADX file. I had one on my stock $88 mask also and had a friend change the ADX to stop the glitch so hopefully i can get that taken care of soon.

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                  Re: Turbo time....

cool. do you know if there is going to be a need for a breather or anything similar with forced induction added?

                    Re: Turbo time....

I just need to add a breather the passenger side valve cover, since it use to run into the stock air intake.

Theres not breather needed for the oil lines, if thats what ya mean(I didnt know what area you ment) The return line is like 3X the size of the feed line to compinsate for the pressure loss and gravity.

Ive got a few extra check valves mounted just to make sure boost doesnt mess with my brake booster, or anything else, also I put in a block off plate at the EGR valve when it enters the throttle body, rendering it to not have boost creap by. And also secured the vaccum lines that go into the back of the throttle body(I dont want them to blow off!)

                        Re: Turbo time....

i've read to run your wideband about a foot down from the turbo. best place for fast enough readings combined with less heat to kill the sensor.

                          Re: Turbo time....

Yea thats what im gonna do, after i talked to a guy he said about 12 inches after the turbo. Thats the plan for tonight if i get time, install the bung, finish up the downpipe, and wait for the couplers i need. Then its just hooking up WB o2 wires and fire her up!

                            Re: Turbo time....

Heres some recent pics. Basically the only thing left to do is Wire up the WB controler, pipe in the BOV when the adapter comes, make sure everything is ok!! And then do a start up.

Not the best looking but its sealed up great and will work. The bottom metal coupler is just in place till the BOV adapter comes, hopefully tommorow!
