    Wondering if you've experienced this:

The serpentine belt on my '87 2.8 required the GM part - no after market for her. The original GM part was a copule of millimiters shorter. The slightly longer aftermarket belts (which met the stated size exactly) would create a racket becaue they did not fit "just so."

Did this ever happen to you?
I solemnly swear I am up to no good.

when i replaced my air conditioning condenser i saw that my serp belt was getting worn...so i went to checker paid 19.95 and bought a new one without a problem.
is you are having problems with yours go back to where you got it and ask, then demand a new one. all i can think of is that they gave you the wrong one. but then again i have a 3.1 so the belt system may be a little different im not sure :D

Interesting, I am not using a GM one but a generic one. Forgot the name brand.

I think Gates and Gator do make belts for 2.8. Go to Pep Boys and ask for it. If they say no then call the company itself.

I am using a Gates belt for my 3.8 which Pep Boys doesn't carry but I do keep the model # so that when I could order it directly from them.
