Have I got a story.....

I bought Suspension Techniques 1" lowering springs for the front and rear of my car. Yes, they are meant for the 3rd gen V6s. Anyway, I bought them online Jan 20th from www.jcwhitney.com . Don't laugh, sure JC Whitney sux, but the price was only $80 a pair.
The order form said it would take 7 to 10 days for delivery through standard mail. It took 6 days. Cool beans, I thought.
I thought the package was a bit small, and sure enough, they only sent the front pair. The rear set will be shipped "sometime before 15FEB02."
Great.....
I decided not to wait on the rear set and had the front set installed. I don't have a garage, so my lazy azz paid Pep Boys to do it. $100. :(
When I got the car back I barely noticed a difference. The ride was very slightly rougher and turned just a little bit better. Oddly enough, it seemed to have the stock ride height. This could be because the old springs were the 160,000 mile originals and were pretty beat....

Anyway, just something to consider if you are looking at springs. I really think that if you have a car without GFX, like mine, then 2" drop springs shouldn't be a problem and would give (my) desired ride height. Oh well, maybe they will settle a bit with time. I've only had them in for 9 hours.

from what i've read here & on other boards, the springs will settle with use & go to the dropped height.

Do you notice a difference when going over speed bumps or dips in the road? I'd like to eventually get some lowering springs, but my car already scrapes most bumps/driveways that I go over on the road, so I would be worried about making the problem worse. Although, my stock springs should be a lot more loose, so that's why I was wondering your experience.

Let us know if they do eventually settle in and become lower. If they do, I might have to get some because these are the only springs I've seen for our V6's. It sounds like a good price from what I've seen other springs cost.
