How difficult is it to replace the flexplate? While I'm at it, I'll probably slap on an aftermarket Torque Converter. Can anyone give me a rough estimate of how much work I'm going to put into this? Is this something recomended for me to do, or have done at a shop.
there are 3 bolts holding the torque convertor to the flexplate. I think 6 bolts holding the flexplate to engine, never really counted. 6 bolts holding tranny to engine, 4bolts, maybe, for the dust sheild underneath bellhousing.
edit: I'm doing this myself, but the bird is not my daily ride. if do it yourself, have about 2 friends with to make it go faster, especially lining the engine & tranny back up. It can be a bytch

actually didn't need more people to hook up the tranny. Just 1 hr to find the damn bolts. Looked under the car & the tranny & engine were lined up! just started the first bolt & brought the two together .
what is your update? are you going to do it your self?
