3.1 w/ nos........ good idea?

Im new to the message board so forgive me if this topic has been discussed before. I have a 91 RS with a 3.1 and Im just now saving enough money for some halfway serious mods. Everyone knows the best bang for the buck is a nos kit, but is the stock 3.1 motor (w/ roughly 65k on it) strong enough for a small shot? Is it worth shortening the lifespan of the motor? Is there a better/smarter way to go?

Sure, you have fairly low miles. I wouldn't go over a 75 shot though.
Might want to start with a 40, 50, or 60 and see how that goes first.

make sure your intake & exhaust can handle in increase in performance. Also don't want to kill the tranny.

i would upgrade your fuel system and mess with the timing first . as said above , i would not go with anything larger than a 75 shot
