Which 5.0L does my mom have?

My mom has a 1992 white RS camaro that we got brand new in 1992. I love that car it came with factory 16 in Z28 rims. Its the 25 ann. Its a 5 speed and it has the 5.0L. Plus it has 62,000 mile on it all from my mom. It is alot faster then my 93 3.4 V6 auto. So when I drive i drive it, it seems very fast. I just don't no which 5.0L camaro it is? Is it the fast one or the slow one? how can I find out?

Check out this chart with specifications for all 3rd gens. It looks like your mom has the slower TBI 5.0 with 170hp/255tq

yeah she has an lo3 . its a 305 throttle body injected motor . and its the slow one ;) the only reason it feels so much faster than your car is because of the 255 ft lbs of tq . its only 10 hp more than yours from the factory [img]smile.gif[/img]


even though im sure it has the motor i said before in it(the tech chart on thirdgen becomes memory after you look at it so many times :D ) , however , for future reference , look at the 8th digit of the vin number . the vin is plated on the dash (at the bottom of the winsheild obviously) on the drivers side .

yours moms rs should have an "E" In the 8th spot of the vin number

rs's never came with tpi , the b4c police package rs did , but they were very limited . and since its a post 87 rs , it has a tbi motor or a v6(but he said it was an 8 so we know what it has in it now
