  • Brandon's home-made intake kit.

    Hello all,

I am going to be fitting a new intake to my 1991 RS Camaro 3.1 V6. As Brandon says $200 is a lot of money.

I have decided to make my own as per Brandon's instructions although I have one question:

Can't I just modify the original 'pipe' so that the K & N filter will fit onto that? - I have a friend who can do this mod. for me.

Will there be any difference ?

    Thanks,

    Neil

Hello, yes that would work although I would recommend buying pvc pipes simply because the 3" pvc pipe lets more air through than the stock pipe. However, I don't think it would make too big of a difference, but the pvc pipes cost only around $10 (it's the air filter that is the expensive thing).

I thought the same thing, but couldn't bring myself to drill a hole into it to fit the MAT sensor. It better in the long run to use the PVC if your gonna drill it because it is easier to replace if you mess up.
