Replaced the rear track bar today, took several hours,
Left the house around 10am went to autozone picked up some penetrating lube, went to the junkyark.
Saw about 20 or so f-bodys. First one I set my eyes on had the piece and it was perfectly straight.. bent mine towing a b2ooo that threw a rod.
So I went to work, sprayed the lube like a mother F*'r all over. Had to use a 18mm socket to get the Nut on the bolt, took some strength, finally got it. Then the bolt started to twist. Sh!T.. I forgot the cresent wrench at home.. had to go back home, then back again. got the first bolt out, got a battle wound getting the 2nd out, when it finally snap'd loose the inside of my wrist hit the drum.. ach ! .. it looks like a hicky now. (6 hours later)
Went home jacked up the car and sprayed liked a b!tch again.. let the lube penetrate for a while, (2o mins) came back out and got the 1rst one out no prob, and again had trouble with the 2nd, ended up using a salsaw to cut the ends of the bolt off then opend the slot a bit and it droped out.
wish I had a camera to show how bent mine was side to side, it was rubbing the muffler and it always made noise.. very annoying, It's finally fixed ! Thumbs up to me !
Now I just wanna find out where all the damn oil is commin from.. It drips right onto the exhaust.. smokes rises from the hood at every stop !, when I changed the oil filter a weekend or two ago I notice there was the source.. the concentration of the splatter was right there. Being in Salt Lake with 38 degree temp I didn't feel like working on it much..( I have NO garage )
That then re-weatherstrip the t-tops and rest of the car.
