• 3rdgen question for anyone who knows :)

This could be a longshot, but does anybody know for sure what series carrier the posi for a stock 84 Z28 w/3.23's would be?

My fiance wants to put in 3.73 gears, but we dont' know if she needs series 2, or 3.

Anyone???

Thanks!

She's a member of that site

Doesn't say, it says a lot about the cars, but no mention of whether the differential was series 2 or 3 carrier :( ... i was just wondering if anyone knew off the top of their heads.

after looking thru the holly book haynes, it finally dawned on me look in jegs (winter catalog came in yesterday :D ) 3d gen rears are 7.5" 10 bolt. who's asking what carrier nnumber is it? jegs is showing 2 p/n for 3.73 gears, & since you allready say she has 3.23, look up p/n 836-49-0046-1 . for diffs w/3.23 carrier & numerically higher carrier.

even more a you want carrier info, not gear info
how many splines on axles?
