  • Boosted fuel pressure

There is a way to boost your fuel pressure without paying 70+ dollars. The other thing is the adjustable ones don't fit under our intakes, there's not enough clearance. What you can do is pull off your fuel pressure regulator, never mind that manuals say it must be serviced as a complete unit, they lie. Six screws hold it in place. Their will be tension from the spring as you unscrew the cover but it will not fly off. Once off place a thin washer on top of the spring and screw it back together. You can use anything 1 inch round and 1/16 or less thick, the thinner the less boost. At 1/16 of an inch the car idles at 50psi and runs 47psi at 2000 rpm. You will have to get the upper plenum gaskets but that's all, I know they come with the valve cover kit but by themselves I don't know. The screws on the fpr are a torx with a pin sticking out of the middle.

I was wondering about the fuel pressure thing. I was on Thirdgen.org the other day looking a fuel pressure rising and it showed a major increase in performance in raising the pressure for a stock 350. I know it is a V8, but would it make the same kind of differences? How is the car running at an increased pressure?

Unfortunately I did this the same time I rebuilt the engine, added the bigger cam and added the ram air so I can't say how much the higher fuel pressure helped, but if there's a big gain on the v8 then the v6 can get a gain from it as well, just not as big of one.
