Top speed on a 92 camaro 305?

My mom has a 92 v8 305 camaro I wanted to no the top speed on it. Do these cars have a speed limiter on them? Its the slow 305 not the fast one.

yeah, the chip has a limiter in it :( maybe 110, 115.

only the Firebirds got the TPI 305.

Its dumb to say theres no such thing as a fast 305. I have a 1985 IROC Z28 with the 305 H.O. and it has more hp and tq than the 3.4 liter. I've outrun the 3.4's many times at the drag strip, its got a gutted catalytic converter, shift kit, flowmaster, K&N, 650 4 barrel carb, 160 thermostat. I use to have a 94 V6 camaro and the IROC is faster.

nope, I believe you. I even found the reference on thirdgen.org [img]graemlins/dunce.gif[/img] . maybe it was firebirds got the tpi 305 w/the sstick. they did something jacked that camaros didn't w/that engine.

Yeah mabe its faster because of your mods. My friend has a thrashed (1989?) IROC and I have beat him in my 3.4L. I was saying that the 305 are slow because the 3.8L has more hp and is faster then a 305 V8. The 305's are slow for a v8 My mom has one and thats what I learned how to drive on, but her car only has 60,000 miles on it. [img]graemlins/burnout.gif[/img]

Thats is incorrect in 91 and 92 camaro rs's had tpi 305s but they were few and far between

We have the TPI 5-speed in are 92 camaro. Air filter is round.

Just to add gas to the fire, i have an 89 iroc with a 305 tbi manual, and a 95 firebird auto with a 3.8 stock. the iroc has a cheater pipe, thats all. the iroc is faster. i run them all the time. Also, new gen has a mod article on how to put a switch in to toggle the rev limiter on and off.its not the best idea on an auto, but its ok for a manual.
ps- the iroc also has 178,000 mile without any engine work. firebird has 60,000

The speed limiter is 118, trust me, I've been there. The stock 305 TBI is an absolute dog unless it's been very well maintained. My friend has a 91 RS with the 305 TBI and my 3.1 can beat it. Off the line he's got me but after maybe 100ft I'm pulling past him.
